Florescer Social

Our journey in the Netherlands began in July 2019 with a social work, called Plantão Biopsicossocial Ouvidos no Vondel, carried out with volunteer professionals.

Ouvidos no Vondel began as an in-person, free-of-charge initiative. We met at Vondelpark in Amsterdam, very close to the statue of Joost van den Vondel (from whom we borrowed the name for this project). In the park, under the trees or near the water, each volunteer offered technical listening and assistance to clients seeking support.

With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in March 2020, our service transitioned online.‌

After more than five years of monthly online support, we uphold our mission of providing a space for careful listening and support for our Brazilian and Portuguese-speaking community in other ways

Still in March 2020, concerned about the group of care professionals due to the pandemic scenario, we began offering a space for those dedicated to others, and this initiative was called "Circle Conversation for Professionals", providing support and building a network for Brazilian professionals across different countries in Europe, North America, and Latin America.

Between February and May 2021, we also held the Circle Conversation for Mothers & Fathers, named "Bem Maior", recognizing the importance of providing a space for dialogue and support for parents navigating the challenges of the pandemic alongside their children in both the Netherlands and Brazil.

These circle conversations brought immeasurable benefits to both us, the organizers, and the participants.
